I shot a photography project a while ago, I wanted to bring one of my analog cameras and document our trip to Kraków. My intention was not to create an ordinary travel album but to use a more artistic approach and I think the pictures turned out great. You get to see through my eyes and experience my view of things that I find interesting.
I developed the rolls of film myself and then sent them for print, I also had a small exhibition at the local art school (Örebro Konstskola) where I showcased my work. I decided to hang the pictures on strings around the room, I’ve used this room before but for my paintings.
As I told you before the pictures are shot with an analog camera, a Yashica Electro 35 CC Rangefinder, to be specific. It’s one of my favorite cameras because it always gets the exposure I want and the contrast is good and it’s also a great camera for late night photography.
The decision to use film instead of digital has nothing to do with that film would better or more artistic. I enjoy how older cameras feel when you use them, the click of the shutter and to develop the film on your own is quite relaxing. Right now I’m in the process of trying to find out what my next photographic project could be.
I made a specific page to show the pictures from the trip.
